Ghana's Vice President, H.E. Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, called for African leaders and institutions to translate trade agreements and policy commitments into measurable action during the Africa Trade Awards ceremony in Accra.

Speaking as the Awards brought the Africa Trade Summit programme to its conclusion, the Vice President argued that the continent has already established important frameworks for economic integration, particularly through the African Continental Free Trade Area.

The challenge now is implementation.

Her address emphasised infrastructure, institutional capacity, predictable governance, industrial development, connectivity, innovation and the participation of young people, women and enterprises in Africa's transformation.

She also congratulated the Africa Trade Awards recipients, whose work across finance, industry, logistics, enterprise and institutional development demonstrated different dimensions of the implementation challenge.

The address captured an important principle behind the Awards: continental ambition gains meaning when it produces systems, institutions and enterprises that work in practice.
